Terms
Terms of service
The agreement between your barn and MLJ, SASU for the use of BarnBooked. In force from September 4, 2026.
1. Acceptance
By creating a BarnBooked account, by using the service, or by paying a subscription invoice, you accept these terms on behalf of the business you represent. If you do not accept them, do not use the service. The person who opens the account confirms that they are authorized to bind the barn, riding school or equestrian center named on the account.
2. What the service is
BarnBooked is web based lesson booking and scheduling software for riding schools and lesson barns. It allows a barn to record its school horses with weekly working hour ceilings and daily lesson limits, to record instructors with teaching hours and certifications, to record riders with level clearances and signed releases, and to publish a booking page where riders and parents reserve lessons only where a suitable horse, a suitable instructor and a valid clearance are all available. It produces workload reporting showing hours worked per horse against the limits you set. The service is delivered over the internet as a hosted application. It is not veterinary software, it is not an accounting system of record, and it does not process lesson payments.
3. Accounts and eligibility
You must be at least eighteen years old and operating a business to hold an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter, for the security of your login credentials, and for the actions of every user you invite, including instructors, office staff and working students. Tell us promptly at jimenezjulien42@gmail.com if you believe an account has been accessed without permission. We may suspend an account where we have good reason to believe it is compromised.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use BarnBooked to store data unrelated to running your equestrian business, not to attempt to access another customer's data, not to probe or stress the infrastructure, not to resell access without a written agreement, and not to upload material that is unlawful or that infringes someone else's rights. Automated access is permitted only through the read only API provided on the Equestrian Center plan and within the rate limits published in its documentation.
5. Subscriptions and billing
Three plans are offered. Small Barn is $45 per month and covers up to 8 school horses and 2 instructors. Riding School is $99 per month and covers up to 25 school horses and 8 instructors. Equestrian Center is $199 per month and covers unlimited horses, multiple locations and boarder records. All prices are in US dollars, exclusive of any sales tax that may apply, and are billed monthly in advance from the date your subscription starts. Plan limits are counted on active records. If your barn grows past the limit of your plan we will contact you and move you to the next tier from the following invoice, never retroactively. Price changes are announced at least thirty days in advance and never apply to an invoice already issued.
6. Cancellation and refunds
You may cancel at any time by emailing jimenezjulien42@gmail.com. The subscription then ends at the close of the monthly period you have already paid for, and no further invoice is issued. There is no minimum term, no notice period and no cancellation fee. Because billing is monthly and in advance, we do not refund part months, except where a payment was taken in error. We may terminate an account for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, or for non payment more than thirty days past due, after telling you in writing and allowing you a reasonable chance to fix the problem.
7. Your data
Everything your barn enters into BarnBooked belongs to your barn. That includes horse records, rider records, lesson history, releases, notes and workload reports. We process this material only to run the service for you and to provide support. You can export it to CSV at any time from inside the application, at no charge. After termination we keep your data available for export for thirty days, then delete it from the production environment, with encrypted backups aging out within a further ninety days.
8. Availability
We aim for 99.9 percent monthly availability outside announced maintenance, and maintenance is scheduled for low traffic hours in the United States wherever possible. We publish notice of planned maintenance by email at least forty eight hours ahead. The service depends on infrastructure operated by third parties, and outages caused by those providers, by a network fault or by force majeure are outside our control.
9. Warranty disclaimer
The service is provided on an as is and as available basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or free of every defect. Scheduling and horse welfare decisions remain yours. BarnBooked enforces the limits you configure, and it does not evaluate the soundness, fitness or suitability of any horse or rider.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the total liability of MLJ, SASU arising out of or relating to the service in any twelve month period is limited to the amount you paid in subscription fees during that period. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost lesson revenue, lost riders, loss of reputation, or veterinary costs. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, for wilful misconduct or for any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify MLJ, SASU against claims, damages and reasonable legal costs arising from your use of the service in breach of these terms, from material you upload, or from a dispute between your barn and a rider, parent, instructor or boarder.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes in the service or in the law. Material changes are announced by email at least thirty days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the updated terms. If you do not, you may cancel under section 6 without penalty.
13. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by French law, and the courts of Paris, France have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory consumer rules that may apply in your state of residence. Before any legal action, both parties agree to attempt resolution by email in good faith for thirty days. Questions go to MLJ, SASU, publication director Jimenez Julien, at jimenezjulien42@gmail.com. Publisher registration details are on the legal notice and data handling is described in the privacy policy.
